These past few months have been especially intense and significant for me, both personally and professionally, as I navigated the storm of moving an entire 5-person family and a scaling business across the country. Despite the intensity, rollercoaster of emotions, and massive change, I am so thankful and excited with how everything has fallen into place. With the heaviest of loads behind me, as I stare out the massive glass windows of our new 17th floor office in the heart of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, a sigh of relief and accomplishment has just detonated from the core of my being. Did you feel it?
As we enter a new year, many new exciting personal and professional challenges now lie ahead. I hope you can take the time to read through the update below, and even more so, I hope to hear from you soon!
SFO TO RDU
After leaving San Francisco and taking a short stop in Chicago for a few days, my family and I officially landed in Raleigh, North Carolina on January 19. Despite the rain, sleet, and ice we encountered the very first week here, each day has provided me with more reasons to love being here. In addition to Raleigh being ranked among the top 5 best places to live, and one of the best cities for raising a family; Raleigh is also one of the most exciting markets in the country right now for start-ups. Without question, this town has lived up to the reviews and expectations and I have no doubt this is where my family and business needs to be for our continued health and growth. As we are finally now moved in at home and in the office, we have been creating a list of “friends of friends in Raleigh” that we will be slowly reaching out to over the coming weeks. A few backyard family gatherings and professional roof top networking events are in the works to this extent. So, please, if you know anyone in the area here that you feel would resonate with me personally or professionally, don’t hesitate to make an introduction!
THE CORE TEAM
There is A LOT of work that needs to be done moving forward as we build systems, processes, and procedures required to now scale the business. As such, since November, we started hiring a hand full of key new people, with a few more onboarding over the weeks and months to come. I am a huge believer in the ability of a small group of people who are passionate, persistent, and dedicated to make a HUGE impact. Without further ado, I am absolutely stoked to officially introduce you to the amazing team I’ve been envisioning and praying for over the past 4 years!
Eric McClellan
Director of Business Operations, Santa Cruz, CA
I have known Eric for 4 years. He is one of the most caring, humble, hard-working, intelligent, passionate, and well-rounded human beings I’ve ever met. He started with OSI about 2.5 years ago doing market research on a few projects and started full-time with OSI in January 2015. Eric has jumped in and taken the reigns on a number of things including operations, human resources, marketing, design, strategic planning, and countless projects over the past year. He is, and will remain, an anchor, trusted resource, and integral part of the team for all of us moving forward.
Todd Partain
Director of Marketing & Training, Atlanta, GA
I have known Todd for over 6 years. Like Eric, he is one of the most caring, humble, hard-working, intelligent, passionate, and well-rounded human beings I’ve ever met. Also like Eric, Todd is a Jack of many trades. He has a rich background covering communications, marketing, and corporate training. Todd will be taking the reins providing leadership, structure, and execution on all things marketing and training moving forward. I am personally thrilled and humbled to have him join our team as we take Open Spectrum Inc and DeltaForceIT to a whole new level.
Krista D’Amico
Communications Manager & My Executive Administrator, Raleigh, NC
Krista is a diamond in the rough, and has only continued to impress me with her professionalism, passion, and work ethic. Her experience with accounting, customer service, project management, human resources, and her track record of continually exceeding expectations is EXACTLY what I needed. Krista will specifically be serving as my Executive Administrator moving forward, working on a variety of projects, running point on most all communications, and helping to manage and triage the thousands of relationships and demands that currently fall on my shoulders every day. As a result, she will need to work with each of you directly and I am positive you will be just as impressed with her as I am.
LEVEL UP
In addition to the team above, there are a number of other industry consultants with deep experience architecting solutions for clients up and down the entire IT stack that will be joining the team within the next 30-60 days. To this end, I’ve been spearheading and driving conversations over the past 18 months with additional partners in Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, Boston, New York City, and Ashburn. We are 99% of the way toward making this a reality and I am proud to introduce here one that has officially joined the team as of January 1st, 2016.
Paul Carrico
Regional Director & Technology Strategist, Portland, OR
Paul has been an associate and friend in the industry for the better part of 5 years. He is a successful, value-added business development and sales leader with experience selling colocation, hosting, cloud and network services. Stars aligned around the timing of his joining the firm and both he and I are stoked to finally be working together on the same team. Throughout his career he has built a network of like-minded peers in the Pacific Northwest and has already hit the ground running. If you are in the Northwest region, or just want to give Paul a shout, feel free to reach him at [email protected].
CONCLUSIONS
“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” -Benjamin Franklin
Such words resonate deeply with everything accomplished over the past few months, and still in development over here. I look forward to sharing more with you very soon as we start releasing announcements related to the launch of our online training platform, the upcoming Epic Channel Partner Expo Party we’ll be hosting the evening of Wednesday March 16th, the launch of our new Podcast, new hires across the country, new live training events being produced, and new game changing partnerships we’re close to closing. I want to thank our many active supporters who have helped us evolve over the past few months and years. Your feedback and friendship is invaluable and I appreciate the positive vibes, prayers, and support that has helped push us this far.
Thank you!
